New Bourne Movie

New Bourne Movie

The New Bourne Movie

It won’t necessarily feature Jason Bourne. The new Bourne movie won’t even feature Matt Damon. No the new Bourne movie is going to be filled with an all new cast of the three main characters.

Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, and Rachel Weiz will make  up the ensemble of characters for the new bourne movie “The Bourne Legacy”. Filmed by Universal Studios, the billion dollar franchise movie started by Jason Bourne is now under going a new change.

The new Bourne movie

Originally going to be headlined by perennial star Matt Damon as Jason Bourne for the fourth movie. Already an ongoing success, the billion dollar franchise trilogy had made just under 500 million dollars in the last movie “The Bourne Ultimatum”. However, contracts between Universal and the director Paul Greengrass broke down as Greengrass decided not to do a new Bourne movie, Matt Damon as well hitched his wagon to Greengrass and decided not do a new Bourne movie unless Paul Greengrass was directing.

The new Bourne movie doesn’t mean that Matt Damon will stop.

However, Matt Damon has stated that the new Bourne movie will not prevent him from doing another new Bourne movie as well. He announced in 2010 that the Bourne Legacy may be “probably a prequel of some kind with another actor and another director before we do another one just because I think we’re probably another five years away from doing it.”

New Bourne Movie

Therefore, the new team of Tony Gilroy and Jeremy Renner have now popped into the scene for the new Bourne movie, The Bourne Legacy.

The new Bourne movie, The Bourne Legacy is promised to be just as action packed as the rest of the films. Hopefully keeping the fight coordinators and writers in the new Bourne movie will help The Bourne Legacy stay on the same track as the last three popular Bourne films.

The originally trilogy of the Jason Bourne series has garnered critical acclaim, revolutionizing it’s own type of assassin story line as well as directing. Though some may not enjoy Paul Greengrass’s very shaky camera work at times, they may not have to bear through it in the new Bourne movie with the new director Tony Gilroy. Tony Gilroy has yet to speak about how he will direct the new Bourne movie.

The new Bourne movie is set to be released on August, 8th, 2012. Hopefully the new Bourne movie keeps that date as many fans will not be able to wait much longer.

Matt Damon Still Wants to do the Bourne Movies

Matt Damon Bourne Movies

The Bourne Legacy Matt Damon are not correlated. But they might be in the future. Interviews with Matt Damon recently have been about the new Bourne Legacy movie coming in production this week. While Matt Damon says

…….”No, I have no idea about any of it… no, no you won’t see me in the background of the new one. He’s got a whole other thing that they’re doing and I wish them well and Tony’s really smart. I’m sure they’re going to be great. All I know is that it doesn’t preclude Paul and me from doing another one of ours”.

Who Matt Damon is talking about when he says “Tony” and “Paul” is Tony Gilroy, the current direct of the new Bourne Legacy movie while Paul Greengrass directed the last three.

Matt Damon states also that he isn’t finished with doing the Bourne movies himself. Contract negotiations with Universal failed for a fourth Bourne movie even when The Bourne Ultimatum garnered critical acclaim and made around 450 million dollars. Universal does not enjoy paying so much for Matt Damon and Tony Gilroy so Universal of course held on to the name of “Bourne” and gave Jeremy Renner and Tony Gilroy the shot.

Matt Damon of course also realizes the fact that The Bourne Legacy will probably be a spin off of his first Bourne series. Having no cameo or anything at all always gives Matt Damon a chance to return even after The Bourne Legacy. His price however for continuing after The Bourne Legacy however has not backed down. Making close to 500 million dollars worldwide didn’t hurt Matt Damon’s cause to continue to be able to make a Bourne film whenever Universal wants to start making money again. The Bourne Legacy and Matt Damon therefore won’t be together, but Matt Damon and The Bourne “Future” will still be in the process.

The Bourne Legacy Starts Shooting

The Bourne Legacy Starts Filming

The Bourne Legacy movie has reportedly started filming this week. Though earlier claims that it had already started filming, Tony Gilroy, the director confirmed the fact that indeed The Bourne Legacy was going to start filming this week

The Bourne Legacy movie, always being referenced in pre-production and having not started yet is now finally officially going to start. Starring an ensemble new cast of Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton, and Rachel Weiz, Tony Gilroy plans on the Bourne 4 to be actually a spin off and another trilogy in the making if successful. Most people speculated the fact that The Bourne Legacy movie would be the fourth edition starring Matt Damon, however, after Paul Greengrass did not sign up to direct, Matt Damon chose not to follow along either. However keeping it in the same world as Jason Bourne, another assassin with similar skills in a similar situation is to take place with Jeremy Renner.

Under the code name “Marcher”, The Bourne Legacy is informed to be filming in Kaufman Astoria, Queens. Otherwise, the Bourne 4 is filming in New York.

Rumors spread that The Bourne Legacy film crew was stationed in places such as Mumbai, India and Italy as like The Bourne Ultimatum where production was spanned across the globe.

Either way, it’s very interesting what they will start to do so far in the filming locations for The Bourne Legacy. Jeremy Renner, now probably fresh from starring and filming in Mission Impossible 4 and The Avengers, not to mention also Ice Age 4, will have his hands full with all the movies of 2012 that are coming out.

Tony Gilroy had said that The Bourne Legacy will be shot mainly in Manila, Philippines. The addition of filming starting now in New York is one to be seen as different.

Producer Frank Marshal also confirms the fact that The Bourne Legacy movie is shooting this week. On twitter, he posted “Sad to leave T-ride Film Festival, but excited to start shooting Bourne Legacy tomorrow…

Quite exciting news as another one of his twitter posts were “Mr. Norton rolled his eyes and said that would be like a heavyweight boxer taking on a featherweight…“. It’s nice that Edward Norton actually has a twitter account as well as most of the movie crew. Jeremy Renner though, star of The Bourne Legacy movie however does not. Quite disappointing.

The Bourne Legacy movie hopefully will feature a lot of the action scenes that made the previous Bourne movies so action packed and thrilling.

The Bourne Legacy Cast

Published by in Cast on September 6th, 2011

The Bourne Legacy cast

The Bourne Legacy Cast

Jeremy Renner and Rachel Weiz

…. will be filled with a surrounding new main cast, but yet a tire of old supporting characters as well.

To round out the beginning of the Bourne Legacy cast is Jeremy Renner, Edward Norton and Rachel Weisz. All three of them are new to the Bourne series, all of them replacing old Bourne cast members such as Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, and main Bourne cast villians such as Karl Urban as Krill and Joey Ansah as Desh.

It is hard to imagine however, Edward Norton playing as a counter assassin killing man in the Bourne Legacy. While the Bourne Legacy cast may be in question, Edward Norton is always used to playing as the villain.

The remaining of the Bourne Legacy cast begins to show itself as one of the same. Set in the same world of Jason Bourne, the Bourne Legacy film wants to exemplify its plot and cast as a new main character set in the same Jason Bourne world.

The Bourne Legacy cast

therefore will feature many of the old supporting cast as a good background. They are…..

Scott Glenn as Ezra Kramer, CIA Director.

Joan Allen as Pamela Landy, subdivision CIA Director. Featured very heavily in the Bourne Supremacy and the Bourne Ultimatum, she discovered the Treadstone and Blackbriar plots to ultimately dislike the CIA. It’ll be interesting how she’ll be casted in the Bourne Legacy and what she’ll be doing.

Also in the Bourne Legacy cast from the past movies will be Albert Finney, the Dr. Albert Hirsch. First casted in the Bourne Ultimatum, it follows the plot that he is the man that recruits everyone into the secret black ops program as be volunteering Jason Bourne in the beginning.

The Bourne Legacy cast will be placed into the same world. Assuming that Jason Bourne has officially and finally blended into the world, the Bourne Legacy cast of Jeremy Renner is set to play a character called “Martin”. Whether that is his real name or not will be seen as according to how the past Bourne films are conducted with Jason Bourne’s real name being revealed as David.

However, if The Bourne Legacy casts Jeremy Renner as Martin and keeps the name of the movie as “The Bourne Legacy”, it can be seen that Jeremy Renner be another “Bourne” this one of course, Martin Bourne.

The Bourne Legacy cast

will feature Rachel Weiz as Renner’s supposed love interest. A bit new to action films, it will be interesting on how her part will be played. Supposedly maybe the Bourne 4 casting will choose her as a CIA agent like Julia Stiles or maybe as the unsuspecting girlfriend like Marie.

Edward Norton in The Bourne Legacy casts as the main “villain” of the film. This part may be one of the biggest differences between the last Bourne films and the Bourne Legacy cast. In the last Bourne films there was no singular villain but rather the entire CIA Operative working against Jason Bourne with many smaller Assassin’s and assets going after him. With The Bourne Legacy cast with Edward Norton as the main villain creates a differenting style from the preceding.

Either way, the Bourne Legacy cast seems to show up to become quite an ensemble for the next biggest movie of 2012.
